C6 slamming into R 'sometimes'...
I have a used C6 in my '82 F250 2wd 302. Trans came out of a '78 van I think.
Trans works pretty good, but sometimes it SLAMS hard into reverse. Only happens sometimes. Doesn't seem to matter if it's cold or warm... seems totally random.
Idle is set to spec. She's absolutely not idling too high. All new fluid and filter.
Any ideas?

Have you checked the u joints and rear end for excessive play? These can make it seem like it slams hard at the tranny, the play will add up between them. If they are all ok, I would say its something in the vavle body, most likely a missing check ball, or broken accumulator spring.
