Got A Big Tow report for you guys....My buddy races At The local speedway and was invited to an invitaional some 150 miles south. Problem was, his GMC was out for repairs (he sheared 5 of 6 bolts holding his reese hitch on). So I offered him my assistance. My F-150 pulled his 950 Lb. trailer, and his 3500 Lb. beretta race car all on the Bumper!!!! I also managed to squeeze enough tools and gear in my bed to open my own tuffy or midas. I thought I would have a lot of trouble pulling all that weight over the hills in southern ohio, but the only problem I had was with the blistering 6 mpg. I was getting on Super. Kind of makes me feel good that I can push my old 300 right to the limit and be comfortable with doing it.
bought to tow my old race car (67 VW bug, spare motor and tranny, as well as enough stock parts to build another car) setup to a shop to sell here in a few days, cant wait to pass some stupid honda with all that behind me lol. Love my torque, but im moving on to other things (just aqquired a 75 Vette)...
I tow about 4500-5000 # horse trailer and horses, I towed about 5 ton of lumber on a trailer and truck, and I put 2 ton on it about every month in sawdust!
It is a mule that keeps on pulling! Some times not very fast up hills but keeps going anyway!
Let's see here... well known in my area for it's off road recovery capability, towed several pieces of equipment (small backhoe, smaller tractors, Bobcats, etc), towing trailers with heavier vehicles on them (my buddy's 85 Suburban). Pulling stumps, hauling firewood, scrap metal,...need I say more? ...Okay I even yanked a 2 ton Chevy dumptruck full of firewood out of the girlfriend's back yard after the driver buried it in soft sand! Vehicle: 84 Ford F150 4x4, 300 six, Np435, 4.10s, locked rear/ LS front, 33" mudders. Life is good!
