I just finished putting a 8" lift kit on my 03 f250. My driveshaft is now 2 inches too short, and supposedly the angle is too severe for the u joints to handle. I was wondering what anyone's suggestions were, or what they've done.
I have on 05 with an 8" lift and haven't extended drivehaft and no vibes on take off. I don't know if the year makes a difference. You'll probably have to get it extended.
Front or rear shaft? I've got an '04 and an 8" kit as well, rear shaft fits fine. I did have to do the hanger bearing drop though to get rid of vibrations.
If you're talking about the front shaft....I had a local machine shop make a 1-3/4" spacer to go between the 'shaft and the transfer case flange instead of lengthening the shaft, in case I decide to drop it back down again. Pro-Comp makes a spacer kit part# 90-4107, but it was cheaper for me to get it made.
I have an 05 LWB crew cab that I put a 6" lift on, but I only went with 3" blocks on the rear for trailer towing reasons, it also leveled it out nicely, I also have the starting out vibes going on, can anyone tell me how much i need to drop the carrier with 3" blocks to get rid of this problem?
Thats why I am only going with a 6 inch and 35's I would love an 8" or a 10" with 37-38s but I don't want the drive line hassels and I also tow a toy hauler fairly regularly.
From my research your rear drive shaft should be OK with a carrier drop if you have a 2 piece shaft but the front needs to be lengthend or replaced.
