Just need to vent
The dear wife was backing out of the driveway today and the garbage men left the cans along side the drive. So rather than move the cans she swung alittle wider and backed into the car acoss the street. No damage to the EX but the Escort didnt do so well.

I did this in our Prius -- deftly avoided the trash cans only to collect something else and scratch the rear bumper. $250 later, the Prius is good as new but every car from now on will have back-up sensors or a camera ... cheaper than painting the rear bumper ... or burying a dog ... or worse ... :|

It didn't result in an accident, but a friend did complain that his BMW 5 Series uber-wagen seat belt reminder was insane when we were getting out of an underground parking garage. I pointed out the distinctly different sounds (and different indicator lights) and noted that the seat belt reminder won't even activate in reverse ...
