Autolamp install
Ford sells an autolamp accessory. Has anyone ever installed this kit and if so what is involved? The headlight switch gets changed and there is a light sensor that goes on the dash I assume. Do you need to drill the top of the dash to install the sensor? Is the wiring all plug or do you need to splice wires?
They also sell a DRL option. Is the DRL function part of the autolamp kit?

heard you should stay away from Ford accesory autolamp
I heard the Ford accessory is highly un-satisfactory. An earlier thread suggested it is possible to buy the headlight switch, light sensor/amplifier, and plastic piece to house the sensor, and install the genuine production autolamp into the truck. So far I haven't found the wiring harness for the light sensor - does anyone know if (and where) an '04 f350 xl would have its light sensor connector?
