My name is Travis, I'm 19 and live in Calgary Alberta. I just picked up a '79 F100 w/ a camper, which will be good this summer for camping, if you catch my drift
Anyways, I call it the Green Bean because its Green. It's got a 302 that has some issues at the moment ( hesistation ). I've read the FAQ and a few other things, and it has answered some of the questions I was looking for.
Anyways, hello and look forward to lots of pics and videos
Thats one way to make an old truck look better...take the pictures at night! You will probably fix the hesitation problem by rebuilding your carburator and giving your new ride a good all around tune up with new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Happy camping!
Welcome Travis. Good to see that there is still young people finding pleasure in the finer things of life. Like camping and of course Ford Trucks. Do you have big plans for Green Bean? This is the fourth Ford Pickup (1976 F250 w/ 390) that I have owned, but the only one that I have been able to really work with. I had all good intentions with the others but my priorities were wrong. Anyway, there is alot of info that can help you out. Usually if it is not listed, someone out there can help. Good luck and keep everyone posted.
No prob. I've grown up around cars ( dad has a 1959 Chev Apache P/U ). The plans for this truck is most likely a decent paint job, fix some rust and a huge clean up under the hood from all the oil spitting out of the valve cover. It runs like a champ at idle, its LOUD too, plus Im a farm boy, so its in my blood to drive 70's trucks with loud exhaust and play ACDC, Van Halen etc loudly. Ill post more pics on the weekend when I get a chance to do a more " up close and personal " photo shoot.
