Question Oil Pressure Problems

When I put my 93 F150 302 4X4 e40d in to reverse or in to 1st gear it either wants to die or actually does die. It is almost like if it was a standard that the clutch has been let out to fast and killed it. My oil pressure gauge sits at what the gauge says normal but it is at about 1/4 across the gauge. Well I cleaned out the IAC valve and for a couple of days the oil pressure then sat at about 1/2 way across the gauge and the truck didnt die when I put it in to any gear. It then went back to the way it was at a 1/4 for a few days and it started dying again. Then it went back to half and it was good. Now its back to a 1/4 and I dont know why. What does anyone think? Side note when I let off of the gas it almost feels like it is hitting the gears pretty hard. No noise just I can feel it hitting didnt know if that was normal. It also takes a second longer than normal to shift from park to reverse. All kinds of issues!

you need to check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.

do a search and you will find much information on this.
