No reverse?

What couldn't I get a '94 4 banger 5-speed into reverse? Would it more that likely be the shifter and/or linkage?

Can you get it into reverse with the engine off? If so, I'd suspect the clutch hydraulics.

A possibilty, but the forward gears are ok.

I'd suspect the slave cylinder. Gotta remove the transmission anyway, might as well put a new clutch while you're in there.

Can you get it into reverse by pumping the clutch?

MRG: I don't have the truck, but am looking at getting it and I'm trying to get some ideas about the problem.
I doubt if it's actaully the tranny, but would look at everything if/when I pull the tranny.
