Parking Brake Switch
I am trying to test/replace the Parking Brake switch on a '97 F-150 4.6L. I have been able to remove the driver side scuff plate and kick panel, but I do not see how to get to the switch. Do I need to remove the entire parking brake assembly or is there an easier way?

I think I have a similar problem. I set the parking brake, and my owners manual says the brake light on the instrument panel should come on if the brake is engaged. I noticed that mine doesn't. I am going to read my Chiltons manual to find out if the assembly has to be removed.

My parking brake light quit coming on about a year ago. If I tap on the parking brake with my foot while it is applied the light will come on for about a week whenever the brake is applied than it will turn back off.
