The 352 I just got going was sitting for a long time. It wasn't seized, but for a while the starter motor had all it wanted. I had to keep squirting oil into the cylinders but eventually she started to turn smoothly. The longest I have had it running would be about twenty minutes. I just did a compression test.
I had three pistons test 75's
two just under 75
one at 50
two at a dissapointing 10
How much may these improve if any? What can I do other then ripping it apart and start from scratch?
It may have been ran hot in the past I bught it with a leaking water pump and a temp. guage not working.
I think if I could get them all up to 75 I'd be happy, but of course i'd appreciate higher.
I'd say go drive it a while, long enough to get the motor warm, and see if the rings will work themselves back in again. Then do another compression test.
