Code Readers

Would a Code Reader like this be a decent one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4637126127

At prices like this, it seems to be a worthwhile investment.

I bought one at Walmart a few years ago. It was the same brand but had a LED readout (no numbers and you have to count flashes). I paid $30.00 for it and even though it is not necessary, I am glad I have it. If I did not have one, I would try to buy that one. If it is like mine it only works on Ford vehicles.

I recently bought one for my new truck and it is the new OBII model that cost $90.00. It was a good deal. It checks many different model vehicles. It came in handy when I was looking at cars to buy my son. I could drive it around the block and hook up the reader and see what was wrong with it. Cool technology.

It's kinda like cell phones and gps. Once you have one you can't imagine not having one.

I use the same exact one, and it is PERFECT for the job. The numbers come out in digits...no counting flashes.....and the codes can be stored in the readers memory if you choose. I do recommend getting the extension cable as it makes the KOER test way more easy.
The reader also comes with a instruction booklet with mucho information on code meanings.and all sorts of other quality info.

If you would like to buy it from someplace other than ebay.....drop me a line and I will hook you up with a link to the place where I got mine.

It was a VERY wise investment!

I bought that exact one a year ago and it stays in my Bronco. I get impatient counting flashes. It is the best thing to come along since the microwave. If you do not have one, you might also get a vacuum tester if your code reader indicates some vacuum controlled giblets and gizzards need attention.

I honestly can't remember where I bought mine online. Since then i noticed Wally World has them at about the same price I paid, around $38.

Here you go....I was very happy with this place, and their customer service.

Remember though it you want to make it easy on yourself.....you should also buy the extension cable, so you can sit in the drivers seat and follow the commands in the KOER portion of the test.
