It is a small module that plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash. It has a small screen which you use to select the programming, and to view the live operation (rpm, MPH, or whatever..)

got a little housing that sets on the dash to hold the module.
took total of 3 minutes to install and another 3 to program the first time.
How they work is to reprogram the main computer with different parameters
change the shift time (rpm) and speed (hard vs soft), and a bunch of engine params too, ignition advance, fuel rate, etc..
