Now that I have your attention.. .......I was wondering if the 351m's for cars have more power than the ones for the trucks. Are the compression ratio's better? If so does anyone have the numbers it should run?
(just incase you didn't figure it out "Engine Exploded" was just a way of getting attention to the post )
Thats not funny, i actually knew a chap who was killed by a Exploding 351 Cleveland, he had the engine rebuilt for Very high performance, he let the engine sit in the car for over a year, then one day went to start it, it ran for a minute or two, he lent over the engine to work the gas, then told his mate to turn the key, and it BLEW UP, FILLED HIM WITH PARTS OF THE HEADS AND MANIFOLD ! NO BULL, HE DIED ON THE SPOT... HIS LAST WORDS WERE- HELP ME...
Hot Rod mag had an article on their 302 that went ka-blooy, and showed what to look for if your motor blows so you don't put that cheapo part in again or sprinkle sand in the mains when rebuilding...
Hello, as far as i know nitrous was not fitted to the car, im only guessing what caused the engine to explode was maybe the exhaust vavles were jammed shut, and as it was a very high performance engine the compression was really high,my nephew was close by at the time the engine exploded, i can recall him phoning me to tell me what had happened, as it was 20 years ago , the person had spent $10-000 on having the engine totally rebuild for high performance. Cheers Jamie.
To answer the ? I don't think there is a noticeable difference in any of the 351m's. Pretty much all crap- some of the years had bad blocks depending on foundry from what I hear.
The title got my attention...and I don't think there was anything overtly wrong....bad hair day guys?
