after working on my truck for a couple of weeks i've noticed a lot of numbered tags here and there on it. such as dist clamp bolt, carb., rearend, door, and i think there is one on the transmission. can some one tell me where all the tags were on the truck when it was new? it's a 69 ranger. i'll gather all the numbers and post them. is it possiable it has all the orginal tags?
I think you've got most of them. There are also date codes printed on the windows, a tag on the seat back and a casting date cast into the engine block above the starter as well as on the heads. Some of the sheet metal is also date coded. The instrument cluster housing and radio often have dates stamped on them as well. On two 68's in the area here I have seen a final assembly date stamp on the firewall above the master cylinder.
Here's a little more info to add, sorry I don't have all that info on me right now.
