engine replacement.

What all would i need to change. from a 1977 carb 302 to a 1985 f.i 302. My question is can i just switch my intake mani and other stuff to the 1977 carb motor? If you dont understand that this is my question. If i put all the f.i stuff from my 85 motor and replace all the carb stuff on the 77 will it work or what would i have to change out? thanks alot.

If the other motor is EFI than it is not an 85 engine, it is an 86 or later. The stuff should fit fine on the 77 motor but would be a waste because the 86 motor is quite a bit better.

for what motors cost... I bought a remanufactured motor with a guarantee for 800.00 last summer.... at a "national brand auto parts store" junkyard motors, or swapping odd motors isn't worth the headache...
