horn wiring
Ok I have a 67 f-100 stock and am trying to fix the horn.....does anyone know how the original wiring worked. I know in early Ford years the wiring came up the steering column and presume it must do the same on the 67...but where does it enter? thanks jim

There is a little ground relay bolted to the right fender near the starter solenoid. When you push the horn button it grounds the relay on the fender and honks the horn.To see this wire at the steering wheel you have to pull the wheel off.

The horn wire is part of the wire loom for the turn signals. The wires enter the column about 18" from the firewall on the left side. You will see the wires (about 8) enter the opening. They run up thru a separate tube to the turn signal switch. When you remove the horn ring,(push in and turn 1/8 turn counterclockwise) you should see a 1/8" round spring loaded carbon filament that slides into the hole at the 9 o'clock position on the outside circumference of the center section of the steering wheel. This is the ground to the the horn ring that completes the circuit. Remove this before you remove the steering wheel or it will fall out and become lost. If it is missing, you can check the horn circuit by sticking a wire in the hole and grounding the other end to the steering wheel nut. It should blow the horn if everything else is ok.

Thanks..found the ground and now need to look for the turn signal wiring as it enters firewall. Someone has already jury-rigged this so some of the wiring is different....thanks, jim
