A/C Vent

Hey guys, I have a 1998 f-250 super duty xlt 7.3 diesel. The prob I have is that the a/c is blowing cold through the defroster vent but not the normal vent. I have no power to the vaccuum pump that regulates this. I can get the vaccuum pump to work and to vent properly by jumping the vaccuum pump off the battery, but when I turn the truck off and restart it the a/c vents through the defroster only again.I also numbered and switched around all the relays and this didn't do anything either.Any clues, thanks guys, Troy.

If it works properlly if you jump it giving it power then just run a new power wire to it. Check for a blown fuse, I can't find much more in my manual.

Check for fuses...

Check for broken wires going to the vacuum pump.

Otherwise, I might move this to the 7.3 forum soon, where you might get a lot more answers.
