Question about tuners??

Hey fellas brand new here, so excuse the stupidity..... also my knowledge about vehicles in general is limited but thats why i'm here. Anyway bought a Diablosport tuner off of ebay for my truck, a 2003 F150 with a 4.6L and I was just wondering about how the tuning process works.... first of all do i have to send it away to some company to get it tuned, i'm sorry about the confusion but serious i'm an amature, can i hook it up and tune it myself, i was just wondering how the start of this process works..... i know it comes with a manual and i'll be using that as a starting point but any other input would be helpful........ thanks.

If you aren't familiar with the tuner, I would be very hesitant on changing too many parameters. Especially all at once. I would read the manual very carefully, and do one change at a time...see if you like it...then try another.

I don't know too much about the handheld tuner parameters. Ive got a full-blown SCT tuner and with that, you can really screw things up. I think the consumer-type tuners like your handheld won't let you mes things up too much, but I'm not 100% certain about that.
