I did a search here and all the useful pics are dead and links do not work; A lot of people said they were going to put a saginaw into their truck but never updated the posts and since all of the post are from back in the day, I figured I'll ask if anyone has any information on putting a sag onto an FE?
I noticed the fella' working on his 511 has a sag on his pump, but there's a lot more accessories on his block than what I have on mine.
I did have a sag. on my FE using the stock 80s Van brackets, but it took a little work to make it work and I removed the pump to work on some stuff and now I cannot get the pump to line up properly. So, now I'm butchering the stock 'horse shoe' and slider brackets to mount the sag. Accomplished. Now I'm having trouble with the oil filter being in the way of the hard-line on the pressure hose, woe is me.
Any ideas? I'm thinking about maybe using the pumps that lacked the reservoir on the pump and use one that I can mount elsewhere.
I have not done this, but I will do it as soon as my ford pump craps out for the umpteenth time. There was a thread in the 73-79 forum that gave the part numbers for a napa conversion saginaw pump that is offered that bolts directly in place of any ford pump on any ford engine. Haven't tried it, but some had and claimed it worked great. Good luck.
