The tranny from a 2200 will not work because the front driveshaft is on the wrong side. The older Mazdas and the Rangers do not use the same trannies (they do bolt up however).

I may be wrong, I sow Mazda E2200 (van on base of Ranger, it is not popular in the USA, but here it is used by medical servises) tranny on 2WD aero. But It is possible here to purchaise T-case, connected to tranny by additional drive shaft! So any location of front shaft is possible! Additional crossmember is required, but welding and cutting solves any problem! OK! I'll try to post images!

Keep in mind that the Ranger and derivatives sold outside of the Americas are completely different and unrelated to the Ranger and Mazda trucks sold here and in South America. Chances are that the components are not the same and little will interchange directly...
