What is your guys' opinion on the bosch platinum 2 and plus 4 plugs
dothey do a better job than the regular plugs
I have a '69 360 2 barrel thanks
brad
I have a 71 model 360 and found that the nut area on the bosch plugs was too short. The way the heads are designed, the plug sits in a valley that gets narrow at the plug opening. My craftsman socket was hitting the head causing me to have to really work to get the plug tight. I switched to Autolite Platinums- they have a larger nut surface than Bosch without lengthening the plug in either direction.
As far as performance- you really won't be able to tell any difference. I don't mean to dog our motors (360), but they are built with such wide tolerances that a "suped-up" plug isn't really gonna help at all, especially if you have the stock points system. I choose the Autolite platinums because they do seem to last longer that ordinary plugs and don't erode like a standard plug does.
Brad, I'm sure you cold just love several of those higher priced plugs, but them elcheepo Autolite 45s are hard to beat in a Ford Edsel engine.
