4.9L6 Exhaust
hey, just got a 96 eddie bauer f150 rc/short box. i want to put a custom exhaust on it. what are some of the better options for sound n performance? i like em deep n powerful sounding, but ive never heard an i-6 with an exhaust. any ideas?

check Cliffordperformance.net and then put a pipe off the header and dump before rear tires

oh crap i forgot about your truck...it has emissions stuff on it...i dont know what to do now

it does, but i think i can get sims for all the electronic stuff right? i was just wondering what combo would sound good n boost performance the most

u might be able to an after cat system...run without mufflers...maybe glasspacks...definitely check for a header on cliffordperformance.net i think they have one for emissions vehicles

2 piece clifford performance header, true dual Flowamasters with H-pipe. That is the best sound in my opinioin you'll get out of an Inline 6. I had a 40 series with dual outlets on my 93 but I heard the above mentioned set up on a truck and you would've sworn it was an 8 cyl.

By the way, the headers for the EFI straight six on Clifford's website have a bung in the header for your O2 sensor.

You can get dual manifolds for the I-6 and run true duals. Therefore an H pipe would work.

my 93 straight six has efi manifolds y'ed together into a 2.5" straight pipe dumped at the rear. i do plan on doing more to that but right now it sounds like a non-turbo diesel tractor...

you wouldnt necessarily have to buy headers unless you really want to. the efi manifolds are dang close to being shorty headers.

Just do it simple, get the header, a new cat and a 3" single straight pipe. Problem solved.
