Fixed the reverse problem with my FMX
I had been living with a problem in my '67 that related to intermittant reverse. In other words, reverse wouldn't usually work. I had read the Shop Manulas about adjusting the Low/Reverse Band, which mentions you have to access the adjustment nut through an access plate. I had always thought that the access hole was in the tranmission itself, and couldn't find it. It turns out, the access hole is though the floor of the cab. I pulled back the floor mat, and sure enough, there it was. Long story short, I adjusted the band and now have reverse. Just in case there are any of you folks out there with FMX's that don't go into reverse--try this.
Only problem is, in the UK where I am, I cannot find a brake band adjusting tool for my 4R44E box (same as 4R55E and the Explorer box). Can anyone poit me in the right direction, please.
Tried yahoo and google and not a thing, even when searching Stateside. The specific tool I need is T71P-77370-A Band Adjustment Torque Wrench Set.
Cheers
