Bonds pulls withen 1

and the Giants are due up for a series vs the cubs (who totally suck right now) I wonder who will give up that home run, or if bonds will draw walks no matter what the price.

Doesn't matter...he may be within one, but we all "know" how he got there...I for one, don't care if he gets one more or not...

I wish they'd just suspend him.

Hes not going to get the rewards that come with breaking a record like that though. Kind of like getting your cake, but someone shoved your face into it.

That man embodies everything that's wrong with professional sports. I hope he takes a fastball to the chin. Serves him right if he never breaks the record. Hank Aaron is 100 times the athelete that 'Barroids' will ever be.

andym..... babe ruth or hank aaron.... both more of an athlete than bonds. steriods are like hemeroids. anyone can get 'em. the question is do you try to avoid them, or take advantage(to the detriment of your ***). no real sports fan will look at bonds record with any more respect than the poor guy in front of you in the ck-out line with preperation-h or tampons. you know he's getting it in the butt from someone.

Buddie Boy said that MLB will not celebrate if he does tie Ruth or Aaron. The HOF also said they don't want the ball, and won't display it.

I think it's a financial investment company. Barry's Bonds. They deal in corporate bonds from what I've heard. If you go in there with a lot of cash, you can pull down an 11%/year bond.

The thing is, those people who boo him at the parks also jump up and when he hits one in orbit.

See anyone walk to the concession stands when he's up at bat?

No. They stop and watch.

Like him or hate, he sells tickets and draws crowds.

Posters with asterics and what ever else, that's OK.

Throwing stuff at him while he's on the field, that's bullcrap.

You yell, you show your posters; that's it.

Personally, I don't care what happens to him, but I will watch him at bat.

Is he guilty? I think he is. We'll find out.

Passing Ruth is not a record.

Let's not forget that when Aaron passed Ruth's record, it was not a joyus event for Aaron. He was just glad it was over. And the death threats.

There were others who embodied what sports should not be.

The two that come to mind are dead;

Lyle Alzado and John Matuszak.

The Bond haters will watch.

You keep bringing up Matuzak and Alzado..........and then ALWAYS ignore my question concerning the mass quantities of other illegal drugs they consumed.

Or the fact that they had no idea what they were doing concerning enhancements.

To the rest of you lemmons........how is Bonds hitting the 500' moon shots this year???? You still think he's juicing while under the microscope???

Give it a rest. While I can't stand the person, he is a greater ball player than Ruth or Hank ever hoped to be.........only Mays approached Bond's combination of power and base running (which BTW, bulking up actually hurt his prowess on the base paths.............or maybe it was just age??)

At the risk of being redundant, the guy's a jerk.......his latest HR and not signing the ball solidifies that to me.........but the fact he still can perform not only while physically ailing, not on any juice AND with a bunch of screaming imbeciles making fools of themselves at his every move proves to me that he is an athlete of the caliber that we may never see in our lifetime again.

He will break the record(s) and untill you can prove to me that every pitcher that he faced was clean or that the other record breakers were amphetimeine or narcotic free (read cocaine) then his records are as legit as anyones.

DOHCmarauder, The reason I brought up both Alzado and Matuszak is in response to someone posting that Bonds embodied everything wrong with professional sports.

And then to say that I "ALWAYS" ignore your question concerning the mass quantities of other illegal drugs they consumed?

I was never aware that question was posed to me, Interesting.

I know they consumed mass amounts of other legal and illegal drugs and what not. I knew that while they were alive. I had friends that worked for the Raiders orginization.

This post isn't about the effects of steroids, but if Bonds took them and lied under oath about taking them.

Congress should keep their noses out of this-period.

It's also a witchhunt, in my opinion.

They didn't want to hang McGuire or what's his name.

They want Bonds, because of who he is and what he represents.

And they don't like that.

Bonds hit that 450 footer on sunday night with a bad knee.

His talent is that he knows how to adjust. That along with unbelievable hand-eye coordination; which steroids have nothing to do with.

Steroids make you strong, not quick.

People don't like him because he's............................Barry Bonds.

I 100% concur...........witchhunt is extremely appropriate.

I suppose you could have looked at it as rhetorical......but it has been mentioned a few other times (not just from you)

BTW, I can't stand Bonds.........but I realize we may never see an athlete of this caliber in our lifetime again and the fact we get to see history made also is awe inspiring.........to ME.
