i own a 2001 f350 four door dually, currently getting between 13.7 and 14 miles per gallon,am looking to buy a chip or tuner, added hp would be wonderful, truck has plenty of pulling power as it is,am more concerned with increasing mpg, anyone have any luck or past experience with any of the aftermarket tuners making much of a difference with fuel economy? a buddy of mine just installed a diablo predator in his 05 duramax, went from 18 mpg to 26.2 out on the road.would love to hear from anyone that has had any luck with any aftermarket tuners,thanks,roger-prostreet65

That seems like a big increase in milage. I had a Predator and didn't get much better milage. I had my foot in it more than normal though. I know the trip computer figures milage way high with a tuner or chip. Mine said I was getting 26 or so, I knew it was to good to be true. Always calculate milage by hand for accurate results.
I have the predator and am currently running it on the 80hp setting. Normal driving I am getting around 14.5 to 15 mpg. (hand calculated) I have run the other settings but I cannot tell any difference on 40 or 60. Around town or highway still the same. Like most of the fine people on here has said, it depends on how much foot you put in it, anything over 2000 rpm these psd's use alot of fuel.
I have a bully dog 6 pos chip, I pretty much only use the 50 hp tow tune but it is unbelievable. I haven't had any tanks on it yet that are not towing, probably wont for quite a while as SUMMER is here and I don't care what the weather man says. Anyway, the towing power is unbelievable, I switched to the stock setting for grins last time coming home, really felt like it was struggling at 55, switched over to the 50hp, and bam! it took right off from there, purred like a kitten without any struggle. Towing 5th wheel, estimated 12K or so loaded up, I am averaging just under 11mpg.

I bought the Predator about 6 months ago and it def "woke" the truck up!!
I have been real pleased with it. I have it set at the 85HP increase
I like it alot and have had no issues with it, although I am now thinking about upgrading to a selectable chip like Jody's chip that has many 7.3 owners raving!
Check out the chip from Jody at DP-Tuner. Anybody here who has tried one has purchased one, even after owning other chips! He will ask you what you want and give you a flip chip that will work for your applications.
After I got the Predator, my mileage on the lie-o-meter went from just under 12 to 18. Manual calc shows 11. Now I am on the high altitude setting and am babying it all the time. Lie-o-meter = 16.2. Manual calc = 14. Don't buy into the lie.
I bought a programmer from superchips seen a big performance increase. Milege did increase. Don't really know if this is a good programmer or not but see the difference in performance. I did start a post asking for pros and cons chips vs programmer.
Hello all.
New to the forum and I have read several threads on the DP tuner chip. I'm sure I am missing it, but I'm trying to find where I can go to call Jody about getting a chip. I found a link to DP-Tuner in North Carolina. Is this the place to go to?
Thanks for any help.

A chip might give you a slight increase in mileage. But be sure to fix anything wrong first. This includes filters, oil, coolant, trans service, tires and tire pressure, etc.
With a diesel. fuel is a BIG mileage issue - make sure your fuel system is in good shape - the fuel needs to be clean, AIR FREE, and high enough pressure. Otherwise, mileage suffers.
In fact, you can lose a LOT more mileage due to poor fuel quality and/or low pressure than you will ever get from a chip.
