I am in the process of taking my cab off the frame and want to build a frame to sit it on to wheel around while I work on it. If someone has dimensions and or photo's showing one I would appreciate it.
look in my gallery under 48 f1 coming home. shows a cab holder which allows full cab rotation. brackets are bolted to the door striker post and hinge locations. pics too big for reply posting.
The cab if solid will not require a frame to support it. A flat piece of plywood ( less than a 1/2 sheet) sized to go under the flat area of the floor elevated to the height of your choice will work fine. I have a large dolly about 3 foot square that I built an elevated platform on and the plywood on top of that for working height. I currently have the bed on the dolly as I am blocking and filling the bed prepping for final prime. The dolly with the elevated platform (a box) on top allows easy movement about the shop floor. When I cut out and replaced the entire floor last winter, I cross braced with steel tacked into both door openings and across the cowl. During that operation I just supported the cab at the corners on saw horses until the floor was welded into place.

After my previous post, I took a look at your gallery. I like the setup to grab and rotate the cab! I need to come up with something similar to sandblast, prime and shoot color on the frame. I have one really heavy duty broad based engine stand. With a second stand similar stand I could create a setup that would do it.
I repeat however, nice setup!
for bare frames, two engine stands work fairly well. just have to figure the bar spacing to bolt onto the ends. The cab stand isn't mine, but I've been designing a similar setup with a cherrypicker. The adjustable rect. tube, will be replaced with a longer, more rigid piece with adjustable Tees coming off to bolt on to the cab. There's a "steady-rest" for a lack of a better term, that will bolt on the other side which will mount to the picker's legs. I will post pics when it's done. This should allow me slide it in from the side, bolt on, lift up, slide it back, roll the frame away, lower, and connect to the other side steady-rest mount.
