crazzy question

had some problems with the oil pressure gauge ( burn it up ) along with the temp gague , i have allready replace the temp gauge working on the oil one now. after looking it to all the gauges fuel, temp and oil, they all look the same on the inside ( fuel has copper wire).

are the gauges the same but with different cover?

they all work by a Bimetal filiment to move the needle, so the insides will look the same, but they opperate at diffrent voltage and amprage ranges, so they aren't exactly the same inside.

Same technology, but diffrent applications.

My oil pressure gage took and craped out and I went down and got an aftermarket manual oil gage and it fit right in place of the old eletric one and I just left the wiring in place just becuase I did not feel like pulling it all out for now.
