I had brand new engine put in my O4 truck with only 32,000 miles on it after the old one blew up, now I have 43,000 miles on the new engine is starting to do the same thing the old one did.
I hardly have any power on the inclines( non-towing) it starts sputtering and has the loud blow back muffling sound through the air filter housing while driving up an hill. Ford has seaid that the loud girgling of air is normal on the 6.0? Why didn't it do it when I bought it brand new? I pulled out of side road going up an hill towing about 2000 on my 20' trailer and within a 1/4 mile it started running hot and would not shift out of gear with the RPM running about 4. I was going 20 MPH and it would not go any faster, I pulled over when the sensor light came on.
I am on the verge of losing it with Ford, 6.0 for me has been nothing but problems and I had an 03 that was bought back because it was in the shop 11 times.
4000 rpms? if you were running full throttle, the fly by wire technology would be requesting downshift from the trans(passing gear). Back off a little, it should shift
It would not shift out and doesn't shift well in the mornings when engine is cold. Virtually has no power but constant muffling sound when letting off the gas pedal and started again while riding down the road and it misses. I am taking in to the shop again tomorrow.
