need help with headunit ground

The instructions for my headunit say to attatch the ground wire to the chassis. I just pulled the unit out and it seems to be attatched to the aftermkt adapter that was used when it was first put in my truck.Would it be better to ground this to the chassis. Thanks

If there's a nearby ground, I'd always mount to the chassis. That's just because it's one less thing that I know can go wrong when I'm troubleshooting later.
