anyone have a dumpbox?
i have a 76 250 4x4 and really want to make or buy a (CHEAP) dump conversion and use my original box to dump all my beer cans out.. just kidding, (well...... maybee not) i need it to atleast lift 1 1/2 ton anyone ever built one or atleast be able to steer me in the right direction?

You can buy used dump box mechanisms on Ebay all the time. Shipping is a problem because they are heavy. They also require a hydraulic pump of course. I am installing a unit on my truck but it will not lift 1.5Tons.

If you'd like to come to S.E. MI with a trailer, I have a complete unit with all the hydraulic componets, ie; PTO, PUMP etc. and from my 78, F-350., and it's not in bad shape. I just don't have any need for it anymore, and switched to a flat bed. Actually i'm still in the process, but nearly complete
