turn up injection pump

At work we have a 93 f-superduty and was wondering if there is any adjustments you make to the injection pump to make more power. It is a field truck and lacks on the power. Thanks for any input.

You can turn the fuel up, but if the engine is making black smoke now, you will just be wasting fuel. Once a NA engine is smoking black it has all the fuel it can burn do to limited air supply.
That is why a turbo is the big ticket power producer, more air to burn more fuel.

Here is a site that shows and explanes how to "turn the fuel screw" http://www.members.shaw.ca/k2pilot/ Make sure the air cleaner is not the problem and replace the fuel filter. If there is a fuel or air restriction turning the screw will not make any difference

Do pay attention to the little is a lot statement.

One flat of the screw is probably more than you will want.
Also do be aware that with a turbo and stock exhaust downpipe you will be able to get excessive EGT temps when you add more fuel. A pyrometer would be cheap insurance to prevent engine damage from heat.

We thought about since I am replacing my 7.3 intercooler with a 6.0, putting my intercooler off my 99 on his, if it will fit.

There are some pictures of a member adding an intercooler to a 92 in my gallery.
Here is the link to that gallery, scroll down almost to the bottom to see them.

I would still recommend a pyrometer be installed in the exhaust manifold.
The stock exhaust hold a lot of heat in the engine and has to much back pressure.
Look at the downpipe between the firewall and rear of the engine.
That place where it looks like a fork lift ran over the down pipe is the culprit.
Getting the down pipe opened up will also help a lot with the power.
What does it have on it for a muffler?
None is good, a see through is also good, a stock muffler is also to restrictive.
Less back pressure lets the turbo work like it was supposed to in the first place.

Ford has restrictions on both ends of the air path through the engine that do not help with power.
At 3300 RPM you are trying to get over 600 CFM of air through the intake and exhaust on a turbo motor.
You may also want to look at the ram air I made for my truck in the above listed gallery.
It does make a difference.
