Finally took the extra intake manifold off the passenger seat of my truck I just got. Was kinda dirty so I took a wire brush to it and found "FOMOCO" on it. I figured it meant ford motor company, but wasn't sure if it was the stock one or not. It goes to a 360. Thanks.
probably an older intake because I think Ford stopped using FOMOCO in the late 60s to signify their parts. Good thing is that FE motors were produced in so many years and in so many different sizes that the parts are rather easy to find and interchange with each other.
If it's cast iron look for a casting number and a "S or T". If there is just the fomoco oval and the firing order it could be an old aluminum intake. Some have a date code by the thermostat inlet. If it's heavy and almost makes you lose the boys while lifting it it's iron. STG is correct that early intakes had no casting numbers. 63 was the first year casting numbers appeared on intakes. So give us a little more info if you can.
