erractic idle

I have a 1999 Explorer with a 4.0 engine and when I stop at a red light the idle speeds up and then slows down. This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to believe something is not right. Thank you for any advice.

Sounds like idle air control (IAC) valve is going bad. Just needs to be replaced. Nonetheless, it is a good place to start.
