my truck has a 300 six, w/ a 3spd, and want to swap out the manual trans for an auto. I picked up a c-6 out of a 79 van, which had a v-8.
I want to know if I need to have a flexplate from a six cylinder, or if i can use the one that came with the tranny. also any tips on what floor shifter I might find both affordable and practical. thanks in advance!

 

If the van had a 302 or 351 the flex plate with that C6 should work.
