Fuel gauge

My fuel guage was working werd after I replaced the float...

It would read 1/4 when it was empty

so today I removed it and found tht the slide was broken replacing it and now nothing... it goes all the way over above the full mark untill it cant go anymore
dont know what happened..........

Don't get the second half of the post.

IF it's still reading funny or over full, it might be electrical.

sorry yea it a little confussing with out pics .

Long story short I hosed it and I bought a new one last week just havent installed it yet.
