Found another purchase hopeful. Please let me know if recalls have been done and if any trouble warning signs (6.0 issue, buyback, etc) exists on this 2004 Excursion 4x4 Ltd.
I ran this through the FlatRateTech site, but the comment I got back only stirred more questions...can somebody take a look at the report on this one and see what skeletons may be in the closet. (Response I got back> "no open campaigns, recalls. but i don't think you really want this Excursion")
That part isn't suprising. The thing is, Carfax will help you avoid the obvious Wreckage/ Flood Damage/Title issues. OASIS is a good way to identify units that could potentially be trouble down the road, on the theory that if they made it this far with a minimum of drama or shop time, there's no reason they shouldn't continue being solid vehicles.
Very true. I subscribed to Autocheck and the report was benign on this car--registered 6/04 in Anaheim, CA, reported at auction 4/21/06. So, did the previous owner just trade it in? Or perhaps made a deal with the dealership? Or this isn't even the dealership it originated from? You would think with that many pages of warranty claims, there might have been a lemon law claim made--I guess they weren't repeat items...
It has to be a repetition of serious issues to generate a lemon-law claim- even then it's time consuming. This is more a series of things over the time of ownership. It doesn't show lease vs. trade-in, so there's no way of knowing. It did have a Ford ESP on it though.
