keyless entry

I just purchased a used F150 XLT. Dealer said that =it does not have keyless entry. Has power everything except seats. I thought on the window sticker, it said it had keyless remote entry. Is there a way to determine if it indeed has/had keyless entry from the VIN or any other thing??

Thanks. Am sure I will be asking more ???s since the ranger to F150 conversion!

You have the manual? I don't recall the specifics, but there are directions in there about programming another key fob. It was turn on/off ignition like 7 times or something. Anyway, once you did it, the door locks responded with a lock/unlock or something. So go ahead and try it. If it responds, then it was waiting for you to hit a button on the keyfob. So if you get that far, then you could just pick up a fob off Ebay, OEM one, and do the program.

When my son bought his '01, the dealer didn't have the remote, so they just took one from another vehicle & reprogrammed it to work with his truck. Took them about 3 minutes.
