what do you mean by daily??? daily driving a truck on 44's is stupid....i drove my truck on 39.5 boggers 5 yrs ago in hs and it was a huge waste of money
i could drive my truck everyday on my 44 tsls if i wanted...but the tire wear and the gas mileage would kill the wallet, especially with oil prices now adays
I drove my truck 3-4 days a week with the 44's. But daily driving one of these trucks gets expensive fast. There's no reason you can't do it if you can afford it.
i run my 38.5 boggers daily, but i only drive about 4 miles a day.... i say if the wallet holds out, go for it.. but it will be expensive and tires are actually one of the cheaper items as you will soon realize... LOL
Like i said i was just courious, I have no intentions to run 44's all the time. i was mainly wondering what kind of problems people have run into other than normal things like brakes, bearings and COPS. I would say 35's would be the max on a daily driver.
I made the 400 mile trip from Spokane to Portland on my 44's with no issues other than a steering pump that spit a pulley. If you don't have power steering good luck turning 44's. Other than that, balancing them can be an issue of you try using wheel weights but that's about all I can think of.
I will be... but I've never done it so Im a N00B to the max...
Look into used military tires. They are very hard rubber, at least compared to boggers or something. They are pretty close to how hard standard AT's are. In other words, dont buy them for rocks. Anyways, they have 43.4 x 15.5R20 and 46.7 x 16.5R20 and they are supposed to last a long time. The XL's are supposed to be decent in mud, but they are directional. The official "mud" tire is the XML and it is non-directional. The XZL is for sand and is of the hardest compound to resist wear in the abrasive sands of the world, ie- middle east.
Edit: i got on a tangent again... seems to be a reoccuring problem with an increasing frequency. Oh well.
