I have a 2006 f350 and a 5th wheel with hydraulic disc brakes. Is there any way to get the Tow Command system to work or do I have to get a after market brake controler. If so which one will work with this set up?
firebiker, Tow Command has to be ordered with the truck, it can't be retro-fitted.
If you don't have it fitted you will need an aftermarket brake controller.
I personally have had pretty good experience with Prodigy.
I think the issue here is the "hydraulic disc brakes". Ford says Tow Command only works with electric brakes. I've seen comments that that's not 100% accurate but the folks making those comments had additional equipment (BrakeSmart? Dexter?).
Depends on the actuator on the trailer, we had to replace the actuator on our boat trailer so that my truck could pull our boat. Actuator was made by Carslisle I believe.
