I know, it's early to think about stereo, but... I know where the stock radio was mounted and what it looked like. Anyone have pics on stock speaker(s) location(s)....
Working on ideas and want to plan ahead and look for parts on the way...
Gardin of Speedin sells a Dual Cone Stereo Speaker that fits in the original speaker hole so you do not have to cut you truck up to place several speaker around the cab.
If you need a Templet, I'm sure one of us here will be able to supply you w/ one, for both the Speaker & Radio.
I have a dual cone speaker in my 67 Mustang and this one is the worst sounding squeak box ever. I don`t know what brand it is as it was in before I bought the car but it has to be the worst piece of junk ever and a total waste of money.
It would best to try the speak(s) out before you go to the time and trouble of the install.
But how old is that Particular Speaker, was it a 1st Generation Speaker or one of the Latest Generation speakers?
I ask because the mine sound just fine.
I don`t know what the speaker is, it was in the Mustang when I got it. From what I can tell it`s about 3-5 years old. It`s a real hassle to get in to it so I`m putting it off for now, listening to the engine is good enough for now.
