72 Highboy, on board air.
I am building an on board air system for my 72 highboy. I have a compressor from a 66 Tbird. Model HG1000 C3AZ-19703C Does this compressor need external oiling from the R12, or does it have a reservoir? How can I tell? There are no York part numbers on it, just the Ford numbers. The tech article on FTE didn't get me there either. Does anyone out there know? I also posted this in the heating and AC forum. Thanks Dan

If it looks like the york, then it should hold 10 oz of oil in the case. I just finished redoing my york and it made a bunch of noise so I added some oil to the R134 and it got quieter. I think the reed valves get oil from the freon but I could be wrong.
