Please help a girl out

We are trying to swap the 5.0 motor out of an 86 F150, with a 5.0 out of a 90 lincoln. I'm sure we have to swap the upper and lower intake. What else are we going to have to do.

Can we use the injectors out of the lincoln, will they plug into the ford harnesses.

Somebody please help we are desperate

Not overly up on the EFI engine systems, but I believe the truck system is a speed density type, while the Lincoln is a mass airflow. Not really compatible as far as programming, sensors, etc.

I assume the Lincoln engine is going into the truck. Just use the truck manifold & EFI system on the basic Lincoln (Ford) long block & it should work fine. The basic long blocks are similar, except for head castings & cam specs, & the cam might even be the same. To graft the Lincoln EFI, you'll need the harness & a whole lot of patience. Easier, quicker, & possibly cheaper to buy any missing pieces from the truck EFI to repair it.

So far as the injectors themselves being compatible, assuming you can't compare them side by side, go to the NAPA, AutoZone, etc. websites, look up the injector part # for each vehicle & compare them. That will give you an idea.

you will need to swap cams. the lincoln cam is not suited for a truck. use your 86 components on the 90 motor and you will be set. get your haynes manual out as well.

make sure that both the motors are roller cam engines. i can't remember when they started putting roller cams in the trucks but its better to be safe than sorry.

The lincoln has more horsepower, but is speed density too. The HO motors started off with a truck cam. The truck intakes are different than cars but should bolt on. You should use the orange top injectors. The truck motors were bank injection, while cars had sequential firing.
