I recently bought a 2001 EB Expedition with the 4.6 and was wondering how many quarts it took? The owner's manual say's the 5.4 takes 6 quarts but says nothing about the 4.6. I know my DOHC Cobra takes 6 quarts but just want to make sure about the Expy.
Whatever you do, go with synthetic, it's definitely worth it. Motorcraft is not too expensive compared to other synthetics. 5-20 and change every 5k miles, I pushed 12k once, if you do that with regular you need a tow truck.

Well motorcraft does not make or sell a full synthetic oil. the 5w20 is only semi-synthetic and pushing it to 12k is just plain dumb!
