86 F150 erratic idle
Just got this baby at an auction and she's idling unevenly. There's a vacuum gauge in the cab and it revs up and down as it idles. Maybe bad timing or a vacuum leak somewhere? If it is a vacuum leak, how would I go about locating it? And if it's the timing, how easy is it to change the timing belt? I don't know anything about these trucks, any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Not timing. Timing wouldn't cause a pulsating needle.
A constant vacuum leak would do the same.
The needle is telling you there's a dead (or weak) spot.
Do a compression test on each cylinder.
Check the oil for being milky.
Check the radiator for loss of coolant.
