Update on Owasso PD

Physical Test: 1.5 mile: 12:58.20 (which is crap because it started raining on my last lap.... it didn't rain on anybody else's! Sometimes it sucks to have a last name that starts with a "P") (13:36 required) 25 pushups: 21 seconds (One minute required) 35 Sit-ups: 38 seconds (One minute required) Stretch: 18" (15.5" required).

Written Test: Math 90% Reading Comp. 88% Grammar 95% Writting 98%-----Overall 92.75% (70% Required) Tied for #8 out of 34 applicants.

Could have been better, but hey---I did the best I could.

Next: Oral Review Board Interview: Monday, May 8th, 8:30AM

Tulsa requires a Bach. degree... starting pay is around $33,500.... Owasso requires 60 hours credit (I have 80+).... starting pay $34,000 for 60 credit hours....

Besides, who would want to work for Tulsa?

Stan,

Good Job You did way bettwr than I can ever do. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Good thing your not going to Tulsa. From what I heard on the radio, their new mayor isn't going to add very many Police type jobs in the near future!!

WRONG. That is what half of her campaign was about. Hiring more officers. And fyi the tulsa police dept has not had a single open month from training recruuts in the academy since at least last july. And i know of at least 3 more scheduled academys which will take a good year and a half or more...

First off chill.

Second, if you want to be technical and turn this post into a "mine is bigger than yours" instead of a "hey guys, check this out"...... Owasso's starting pay ranges between $33,927 and $40770 including benefits is $52827 and $61139. Vacation and 401k are the same.

It's over, drop it.

Thanks for the congrats... I'll keep you updated.

Wow, Congrats STan!!! Very impressive scores. I haven't been able to get close to those scores since I went thru military basic training, wayyyyyy back when I was a kid. lol. I think you'll enjoy the Owasso PD. I hear they have some new motorcycle units too.(cough-Gold colored and parked in sneaky spots-cough)

I guess if you ever pull me over I wont be able to jump out and make a run for it. lol.

Celebrate at Legends? There goes Tim again, trying to increase his profit margin for his secret share of Legends stock. hehehehe.

Shouldn't we be celebrating at Daylight Donuts? Badump-bump-chaaaaaa.

Sorry, couldn't resist throwing out one donut joke.

Seriously, congrats and we're proud of you.

I would have metioned Daylight Doughnuts, but I didn't want to be accused of "profiling or sterotyping" Of course, McDonalds and Chick-Fil-A seem to be popular hang-outs also
