Anyone know the weight of a full length bed from a 67? I'm trying to figure out what the shipping costs would be for one. Anyone have any advice on shipping something this large? The first quote I got was astronomical. I guesstimated the bed weighed 500 pounds, was 8ft long, 5 foot wide and 3 foot tall.
Sometimes the best way to get it shipped to you is find a local carrier that makes regular runs to that area and have them take it back when they are empty. Sometimes car dealers or car carriers can offer a much cheaper rate than a normal carrier.
JD, I doubt it weighs over 300 lbs. I have lifted one myself turned upside down when I got under it, and with someone lifting the other side. You didn't say how far you needed to ship it, but you might think about hauling it with your truck. You can turn it upside down and clamp the rails together, and ride it to China and back.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I agree with John. When I had my '70 painted me and 3 other guys put it back on the truck. Any two of us could have easily done it. It may go 400 max but no more.
