I got a few mods done on the PSD yesterday, the CCV, kwik filter and the Zoodad. Everything went smoothly except for the couple of times I lost Amy. Good thing I am not getting paid to baby sit. I tried adding some pictures to the gallery but there was some error so I will try agian later.
I never did the zoodad. Did it help much? That's the fresh air one right? Actually, I don't remember what the CCV is anymore either.
Did you notive a difference in the turbo whine with the kwik filter? It spools up quickly don't it.
I did the all 3 mods at once so I can't tell you if the zoodad made much difference but alot of other guys said they noticed a difference and it was easy to do. It is just plastic so it took about 30 seconds with the angle grinder with a cut of wheel, then just touched it up with a dremel tool. By the way, the zoodad is the fresh air one, and the ccv is the crankcase vent. As for the zoodad I can see the air filter from the front of the truck now so I would think it is getting more air. The turbo definitly spools up faster now, very nice.
I am still in good humor though and I have'nt cried at all, well maybe once when I peeled all the skin of the knuckle of my thumb. But, Amy doctored me up and I have a nice Cinderella bandage on it know so everything is fine now.
I may be doing some tranny work on mine right away. The syncros were gone out of 3rd when I got the truck and I've had it over a year now. Time to fix 'er up.
Then the pyrometer.
51dueler is the king of slams! I bow before your presence!
That was so totally sweet. I nearly blew a nut laughing at that one.
It's actually for exhaust temp. If the PSD exhaust temp stays over 1200F for any length of time, the pistons begin to soften (as well as other things) and you could blow the engine. Apparently this can even happen with a stock truck if worked REALLY hard.
