I just wanted to thank those who had posted about buying tires from Tire Rack.

I had never purchased tires mail-order before and had been a bit dubious about the procedure.


But the prices had gone up at my usual source for tires to the point where I re-considered.


I found Tire Rack selection and service and prices to be absolutely excellent.

Unlike a local source, I could choose from among 100's of tires, I got advice from a knowledgeable phone rep, I read the warranties and especially the hundreds of reviews by owners -- on line --of the tires I wanted.

I ended up buying new tires for my truck and a week later, for my GF's car. In both cases the tires came the next day, shipping was only around $8 a tire and I got them locally installed, balanced, with new stems for $15 ea.

For the tires I got, Kumho 795 -- 70,000 mile tread life, I saved over a hundred dollars on each vehicle and spent less time overall.


So I wanted to thank the earlier posters and to second their recommendation of this excellent company.

(Nope, I don't work for them nor do I get a commision. But I should, shouldn't I?
