Question 63 4x4 steering box

Hi all.My dad has a 1963 ford 1/2 ton 4x4.We need a steering box for it.Anyone have one for sale or know where to get one without having to give a arm and a leg for it?I was told 2 wheel And 4 wheel boxes are not the same.Thanks

You are right in that 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive steering boxes are not the same. The information I have from the 1965 shop manual shows the F100 and F250 4x4s used the Gemmer 375 box. This was the same box used in F350 through F600 and a few others. I can't say for sure it is the same for 1963, but my guess is it probably is. Send me a private message. I have an extra one less the worm gear and steering column shaft you can have for free.

Thanks. He has a box it is Just worn out.Needs worm gear ect.I have not checked the price of a new one but Dad says they are really high.But thanks anyway.Found 3 or 4 trucks yesterday all 2 wheel drive.One is a short bed in really good shape I'll see what they want for them if anyone needs parts.
