Keep All Original?

I have pics up on my '70 XLT.Should I dress up the motor-electronic ig./chrome valve covers/fancy coil/wires and dist.cap or retain the originalaty of the truck.I don't want to de-value the truck and spend money at the same time. There is some appeal to all original. It's just not as pretty. I need some opinions thanks

IMO I would put a set of very nice original Dog dish chrome Hub caps on it and call it good. Charles

I would go with a electronic ign for sure. The pertronix units work well and installs inside the cap so no appearance changes their. Get a nice set of Blue Taylor plug wires and put some nice wire separators on em' .

Unless you are building a show truck there is no value (in a $ sense) to leaving the motor original. Personally, I like the look of a non-stock setup. Everyone does it a little differently (OK, some a LOT differently) but they all look good to me. The important thing is what makes you happy. I feel the same way about the body - it all looks good to me as long as it's a 67-72!

I agree with jor, these trucks have no great collector value. Just build it to suit you and tool on down the road.
